OUR CO-FOUNDERS

Into the Net Soccer

Sophia Zhou

Hi, I'm Sophia! I'm a junior at Princeton Day School and have been playing soccer since I was little. I have had the opportunities to continually develop my technical skillsets with different coaches and in different soccer programs. Starting with my town team WWPSA, I progressed through PSA and later Matchfit. I currently play for the PDA South ECNL 07.

Most recently, I played my second high school soccer season for Princeton Day School with one of the best girls soccer teams in NJ as a varsity starter.

I'm really passionate about both school and socccer. Soccer has always been my passion throughout elementary school and middle school. In my high school years, I also hope to be able to spread some of my knowledge and experience to younger players from diverse backgrounds!

Miranda

De Olden

Hi, I'm Miranda! I'm a left-footed Latina who is passionate about soccer -a sport that runs deep in my family! Soccer has profoundly influenced my life in positive ways, and I take great joy in making it more inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible to players from diverse backgrounds. I love building a strong community around soccer and serving kids who are eager to learn the skills necessary to play this beautiful game. Sharing my love for soccer with kids in my local community means the world to me!

Here is a little bit about myself: I am a sophomore at The Lawrenceville School, class of 2026. I started playing soccer very young when I joined PSA’s Development Program and later the travel team. Fast forward, at Princeton Soccer Academy Elite U14, I was the top goal scorer and later earned a spot on FC Bucks at the Elite Club National and Regional League that plays at a more competitive level. This will be my third year playing ECNL-RL as a left/right winger and striker. I’ve also been selected to play for the NJ Youth Soccer Olympic Development Team (ODP) and gained international experience when I was recruited by FCNE to play in Europe during the 2022 Gothia Cup-when we won first place out of 118 teams. At The Lawrenceville School, I was one of the few freshmen invited to play varsity. I currently play in the Northeast ECNL-RL Conference with Next Level Soccer Academy (NLSA).

Coaches

Charlie Ewing

Hi, I’m Charlie! I have been playing soccer ever since a young age, playing competitively with Princeton Football Club (PFC) in elementary and middle school. More recently I have focused on soccer at my school, Princeton Day School. Here I was the top scorer for the JV program as a Sophomore. I also played with the Varsity program during the State tournament. I play Striker and Midfield.

I love soccer because it allows people from all kinds of different backgrounds to come together and have fun. I follow soccer closely and I enjoy studying the tactics and culture of the game. Soccer is a great form of exercise and making friends, and to be able to share this opportunity with the young generation is a great way to give back to the local community!

Saboor Qureshi

Hi, I’m Saboor Qureshi! I am a soccer player who has been actively involved in sports for many years. Miranda and I were the soccer co-captains at Princeton Charter School! Currently, I am a student at Princeton High School, and have been playing for Princeton Football Club (PFC) for the past 5 years as a right winger. I have consistently performed well, and am on the PFC A-team as well as the high school team, where I helped them nearly go undefeated for my freshman season. I have a deep love and passion for soccer, and am dedicated to improving my skills and helping others succeed.

Soccer is a huge part of my life, and I want to share my love for the game with others. I am committed to making soccer more inclusive and accessible, and am grateful to teach the sport to little kids. I believe that soccer has the power to bring people together and create a sense of community, and I want to be a part of that. I am dedicated to passing on my love for the game to others and helping to spread the joy and positive impact of soccer to as many people as possible.

Hi, I'm Ziyang, but everyone calls me Z. I'm in 10th grade, 14 years old, an Asian American, and go to Princeton High School. I have played soccer for around 5 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic. Like most, I stopped playing for a club during the pandemic but then joined Princeton Football Club (PFC) the following Spring. I was also Miranda's teammate in the co-ed soccer team at Princeton Charter School! Before that, I played for the Lawrenceville Bulldogs as a defensive-sided player. I have always been refining my skills over the years and would love to transfer them to other people. I have always loved teaching little kids and teaching them soccer would be a blast! Playing soccer has always been a hobby of mine and I hope I can make it a hobby of others too.

Arielle Chen

Ella McLaren

Hi, I’m Ella! I’m a rising 10th grader at Princeton Day School and 15 years old. I’ve been playing soccer since I was 3 and travel soccer since I was in kindergarten. I currently play for Real Jersey FC 2007 GA. Very recently I played my freshman season as a starting varsity player on the girls soccer team. With both high school and club soccer, I'm very loving of this sport and would love to help others grow in it as well. Whenever there is an opportunity to help teach kids how to play soccer or learn more about the game, I love to jump at it. I play starting positions for both of my teams and I’ve just always had a passion for sports. I’m really excited to volunteer and help out at Into the Net, and I hope everyone has fun in the process.

Marco Pellegrini

Last year, I played on my school’s freshman soccer team as well, but this season I’m hoping to earn a spot on the varsity roster. In 2020, I was a player on the Eastern Pennsylvania ODP team, but the season was cut short due to the pandemic. I’ve enjoy community service. Abby Leonardi

Director of Social Media

Hi, I’m Abby Leonard! I’m a sophomore at Princeton Day School in NJ and have been playing competitive sports since first grade. I’ve had the privilege of having access to various athletic opportunities, playing about five sports (recreational, club, and for school) over my life. I currently play lacrosse and earned a varsity starting spot on my school’s volleyball team as a freshman.

My athletic experiences have and continue to help me grow as a player, leader, and a person. I find that sports provided me with tools that continue to help me in life, whether athletic or non-athletic. Because of this, I see the importance of athletics for kids and want to extend some of my resources and ideas to help others reap the benefits of what sports have done for me.

Into the Net Soccer’s mission truly resonates with my beliefs about the connection between sports and development, giving many children the chance to see what athletics have to offer.
